I'm also extremely nervous as I'm anxious to hear what you think of how everything concludes.  It's been about a year since I first turned in this book, and yet I'm more anxious now than when I wrote "the end" and sent it off to my publisher. Then it was done, but not "done done." I knew it still had many more eyes that would look over it and I would see it again and still work on it. Over the months that followed there were revisions and edits. But now all of those have been done for over half a year. I haven't actually seen it in print yet (with covid and all, I haven't gotten any advance copies) so some of you may see the final project before I do! (Amazon says my copy will arrive on Thursday.) Hello and happy New Year everyone! 2019 saw the release of the sixth book in the Alex Craft novels, Grave Destiny, and I turned in the final book in the series, GRAVE WAR. This was an unexpectedly emotional event. While I've written "the end" on nearly a dozen books, this was my first time ending a series. This book marks the end to the Alex's story, and while I hope that I can write in Alex's world again (I'd love to continue to explore Briar's story, and I have a short story planned for Rianna) this is the last book that will be from Alex's perspective. This was a pretty big thing for me. The book is not completely finished--I will have a pass of revisions and copy edits and such, but unless my editor hates the book, it is more or less the story that you will see when it hits shelves. The completed draft of GRAVE DESTINY (Alex Craft book six) is in the hands of my editor. It still has to go through a lot of steps before it reaches you, including revisions, line edits, copy edits, and page proofs, but the biggest part of the process is now done and the book is more or less the story you will eventually read. Yay! I don’t have an exact release date yet (and I’m not sure if UK and Audio will be behind US print again, but I’ll try to find out before release this time) but from what I understand the plan is for it to come out in Spring of 2019. Hello all! Swinging by for a quick update about all things Alex Craft. The website now includes the cover for GRAVE RANSOM (Alex Craft book five), several links for where the book can be pre-ordered (with more to come as they become available), and AN EXCERPT ! Part of the excerpt might look a little familiar to some of you as an early draft of it was included in the end of Grave Visions last year. Grave Visions: An Alex Craft Novel We are close enough to start counting down the days until the release of GRAVE VISIONS. Or at least, I am excited enough to count the days. It will hit shelves on February 2nd, so as of today, there are only 52 days until the release. Yay! I can't wait. With that in mind, I think it is about time to release an excerpt. Sorry for the long silence everyone. I hope to have an update for you soon. In the mean time, I wrote a short story that is set in the Alex Craft world and will be hitting shelves tomorrow in the anthology  KICKING IT.  My story in KICKING IT is called RUBY RED and follows Briar Darque on a case. It doesn't relate directly to Alex's tale, but timeline-wise, it falls between Grave Dance and Grave Memory. This anthology is packed full of great stories from authors I'm sure you know well, including Rachel Caine, Chloe Neill, and Faith Hunter. I'm super thrilled to have been involved with the project and I hope that you'll check it out. It will hit stores everywhere tomorrow,  December 3rd. Enjoy!

Today I'm very happy to unveil the cover for the third Alex Craft novel, GRAVE MEMORY, which will be hitting shelves this July. And not only do I have US cover, but I also have the UK cover. I believe the books should be hitting shelves simultaneously, so this is super exciting. Okay, enough chatter. I'm getting a lot of emails asking how many books will be in the Alex Craft series. The truth is that the answer hasn't been determined yet. Currently, Roc has me contracted for the first three books, but it is my hope that they will want more books in the series because I have a lot more story to tell. I do have an idea how the series will end, but I don't actually know how many books it will take for me to reach it. Does that make everything as clear as mud? LOL Have a great Tuesday, everyone.

Earlier this week, the head minion had a birthday and to celebrate, we ran off for a day at the beach. While walking down the beach, enjoying the sand squishing under foot and the ebbing waves washing over my ankles, I started to think about what that same beach might be like in Alex's world. In her world, more than likely marrow or mermaids would be out amongst the waves or sunning themselves on the rocks. Depending on which folklore you read, that could be a rather delightful sight, or a very dangerous one as the presence mermaids were often thought to foretell storms. Or, other stories tell of them luring mortals into the ocean where they would then drown them and either eat them or trap their souls in pots far beneath the waves. Very deadly indeed. I then looked toward the land and thought about how in Alex's world the sand dunes would probably be covered in enchantments. Some would be enchantments to prevent erosion of the shoreline, but others would be strong spells mea...

  I can't believe we are at 11 days and counting until the release of GRAVE DANCE. Which means it's time to share the final excerpt from the book.
