There are milestones in every career. In publishing, the first of these milestones is probably the very first time you write the magical words "The End" followed by new markers at each stage of your career. Each is new and exciting, and I'm very happy to announce that today I've crossed one of those milestones. Today my very first foreign language book hits shelves! DER KUSS DER EWIGKEIT is the German language version of ONCE BITTEN , the first novel of Haven. As has probably become apparent in previous posts, I don't speak a word of German, so I'm using a translator. But,  to my new German readers who stumble on this post, I just want to say: Vielen Dank für das Lesen der Kuss der Ewigkeit! Ich hoffe, Sie genießen das Buch!  (That should translate to "Thank you for reading The Kiss of Eternity. I hope you enjoy the book!" --or at least I hope that's what it says and that I haven't announced I'm a jelly doughnut. ^_^) Have...

 I'm very happy to unveil my very first foreign cover. This is the German version of ONCE BITTEN (German title appears to be "The Kiss of Eternity") and I am just floored by how beautiful it is. I will have to figure out how to get my hands on one when it hits shelves this December.  What do you think?  (If you follow my twitter/facebook feed, you might have already spotted this cover, but I just had to share here as well.) Today, purely for your amusement, I thought I'd share some random trivia about my titles. It's possible I've shared some of this information before, but I'm sure I've never put it all down in one place. I hope you enjoy! When writing ONCE BITTEN , I initially titled the book Dead Cats Don't Cry, which is a line Bobby says to Kita in the third chapter of the book. At that time, I planned to call the second book in the series Good Cats Stay Dead , which was a line planned for the second book. (When I shuffled the plots of the second and third book, that line was moved and is still said by the intended character, but in book three instead of in book two.) I abandoned these names long before selling the series. By the time the books sold, the first book was titled Dark Haven . The second and third books were planned as Crimson Death and Moonlight Gate . My working series title was The Kita of Firth Series. My editor tossed the initial title as not sounding urb...

I have been behaving recently and not checking my sales rank on a regular basis, (okay, so 'behaving' actually means my deadlines are looming dangerously close and I haven't had time to cyber stalk my own sales) so when I received a message from my publisher letting me know Twice Dead had reached #2 on Fictionwise's  Bestselling Dark Fantasy list, I was taken completely by surprise. Wow, I totally hid the exciting information in the middle of that excessively long sentence. Let me try that again. Twice Dead is the #2 on Fictionwise's Bestselling Dark Fantasy List ! February is finally here, which means TWICE DEAD will be hitting shelves and e-sellers soon. To celebrate, I'll be having a month long party here on the blog. There will be giveaways, free fiction, guest blogs, and more. Also, I'll be starting up a blog tour soon, so stay tuned to learn where on the web I'll in the coming weeks. As many of you who have written me know, (thank you for all the emails,) I thought my release would be near the end of February, but I just found out today that Twice Dead should be out around the 10th! I found out this morning that ONCE BITTEN is currently #1 on Amazon's Fantasy list and Horror list!! Thank you everyone who took advantage of the Christmas special on the kindle edition of the book. I'm thrilled to say that I have received permission to release the cover art for TWICE DEAD, book two in the Haven Series. I think my publisher did an amazing job with this cover, so I hope you like it just as much. TWICE DEAD will be released in late February, so look for more updates soon!

I've dropped hints that I've had news of late, and as I now have a signed contract in my hands, I'm finally ready to share. It is my pleasure to announce that I am being represented by the amazing Lucienne Diver of The Knight Agency ! She is currently shopping a new series for me, so hopefully I will have more exciting news to share with you soon. In other news, I will be speaking at a local high school tomorrow on the importance/joy of reading. This will be a first for me, and I'm very excited. You probably remember my teasing post a couple weeks ago about something big in the horizon. Well, I am finally ready for the big reveal . . . I have signed a contract for five more books with Bell Bridge Books!
